Harlem CoLab is a workforce development service program that enables community residents to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain gainful employment for economic stability in various sectors.

We facilitate the Be Tech and DASCR programs through tech enrichment and career support.

 

Our digital fluency and tech-adjacent training partnership programs bring technology tools and concepts to learners of all ages, from school-age children to career-ready adults. We teach digital skills for the technological world of the future. 

DIGITAL AND STEAM CAREER READINESS (DASCR) PROGRAMS

Training & Programs

The DASCR program offers multiple tracks for  candidates to choose from based on their interests or desired career goals. At least 87% of program participants have high school diplomas and are interested in pursuing programs to further their education.

Objectives

The Be Tech DASCR program aims to develope a pipeline of BIPOC students (Black, Indigenous, People of Color), interested in careers in STEAM that do not require programming skills or graduate degrees.

LEARN WEB AND APP DEVELOPMENT WITHOUT CODING BY WORKING ON REAL PROJECTS. OUR PROGRAM ALSO OFFERS GAME DEVELOPMENT TRAINING, MENTORSHIP, AND SUPPORT FOR CAREER READINESS AND JOB PLACEMENT.

Be Tech TITANS Program

Be Tech TITANS program is designed for individuals seeking tech-related training and certification in Loss Prevention (LPQ), data science, software management, as well as digital project and product management.

Workshops utilize video games as a bridge to close the digital divide between consumers and creators of digital technology. The workshops provide introductions and training for the following disciplines in video game development:

  • Storytelling and Screenwriting for Games

  • Beat-making and Audio Engineering

  • Visual design

  • Game design and Problem-solving​

Reimagine School Partnerships

Reimagine School Partnerships is our most ambitious program that views companies as partners, not vendors, in school communities and districts. Our custom "platform" leverages your brand strength to impact students through mentorship, teacher training, professional development, and curriculum development partnerships. Starting in the classroom, this program exposes students to tech capabilities and uplifts families through community engagement and support.

Product & Project Management Intro Training Program

Acquire tech skills in UX and Project Management to drive creativity and team leadership. Develop visual design, marketing, product, entrepreneurship, business strategy, etc. A UX design skillset and PM experience can boost job performance and career growth.

IRLXP (In Real Life Experience Projects)

IRLXP offers a valuable on-the-job training experience by matching people with projects, creating a sustainable pipeline of BIPOC employees for your organization. Selected candidates work on your company's predefined projects with achievable goals. This program fosters learning and potential employment opportunities.

FEST (Fair for the Environment,  Science, and Technology)

FEST creates diverse pipelines by exposing young learners to professionals and technology through a one or two-day event. Harlem CoLab identifies schools and CBOs for the event and connects you with partners. Attendees explore digital technologies, food sustainability, games, life sciences, new authors, and artists in the BIPOC community. This program provides projects, Q&A with industry professionals, and new perspectives to attendees.
